Our Mission Statement: To provide excellence

In March 1997, the Pan Pacific Laser (PPL) opened its doors with our state-of-the-art refractive eye clinic located in Honolulu, Hawaii.  This was achieved under the guidance of the late Dr. Donald Johnson of the London Place Eye Center in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.  He was a world renowned refractive surgeon who had performed over 45,000 refractive procedures and directed several laser centers in achieving excellence in outcomes, safety and satisfaction.

With the leadership of Alita Soon, Administrator and C.O.T. a comprehensive and well-trained technical staff was formed.  The center has also been committed to being an open-access facility to our community ophthalmologists and the majority of Hawaii ophthalmologists have performed their first cases safely and successfully at PPLVC.  In 1999, Stephen Gee, M.D. was appointed as Medical Director of Pan Pacific Laser and together launched the most successful laser vision correction program in Hawaii.  He has now performed over 15,000 LASIK and PRK-LASEK refractive procedures in our center in Honolulu.

PPLVC was the only laser center in Hawaii to house more than one laser originaly the NIDEK EC-5000, the LADARVision, and the VISX Star S4 IR (Iris Registration), giving us at the time the best combination, allowing surgeons to tailor laser treatments more to your specific individual needs.

PPLVC is committed to providing the highest quality care and the latest proven technologies.

The now LASIK is safer than ever with the IntraLase FS laser which is the gold standard for today’s laser vision correction procedures.

The VISX WaveScan / Wavefront System provide us the capacity of performing customized laser treatments (i.e.CustomVue).

Advanced eye mapping devices such as the Pentacam for topography, infra-red camera for pupil size measurement, and auto refractor are all essential in screening prospective patients. PPLVC has helped thousands of patients enjoy the wonderful benefits of laser vision correction so that they may now enjoy and see our beautiful Hawaii even better.
